Hays Education are working in partnership with a well–established and forward–thinking secondary school in Burnage to recruit an experienced Facilities Manager on a temporary basis until the end of the academic year. This is a key role within the school, responsible for ensuring the site is safe, secure, and fully operational to support a positive learning environment for staff and pupils.
Location: Burnage, M19
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Temporary until end of academic year
Rate: Up to 18/hour DOE
Hours: Full–time, 6am – 1:30pm (some flexibility on hours available)
What You'll Be Doing:
- Overseeing the day–to–day management of the school site
- Opening and securing the premises (early start required)
- Carrying out maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of the building and grounds
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations and site procedures
- Managing contractors and overseeing works on site
- Supporting with statutory checks, audits, and site inspections
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation across the school
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience in a school–based facilities, site manager, or caretaker role
- Strong understanding of health & safety and compliance within an educational setting
- Practical, hands–on approach with the ability to manage and prioritise workload independently
- Reliable, proactive, and committed to maintaining a safe school environment
- An Enhanced Children's DBS on the Update Service
