Ventnor and District Local History Society is now looking for a new Trustee to fulfil the role of Treasurer for the Museum. As a registered charity, the Society is involved in community events, providing talks and slide shows on local history, and local heritage walks. The Heritage Centre serves as the headquarters of the Society’s operations, housing its museum and archives which are open to the public most of the year.
The Treasurer is specifically responsible for all financial matters relating to the Society, namely:
- managing the online bank accounts and payment channels (inclusive of raising and settling invoices)
- setting the annual budget
- providing monthly reporting to the Trustees
- bringing any concerns regarding the finances to the attention of the Trustees
- completing and submitting year-end figures to the assigned team of accountants
Skills
- willingness to work as part of a team

- familiarity with Excel and general technology aptitude
- willingness and ability to devote the necessary time and effort (approx 3-4 hours a week)
- previous financial experience welcomed

Availability Details: Namely to attend 6 weekly Trustees' meetings and any other time needed to undertake budget drafting and trustee responsibilities, together with supporting monthly historical talk hosting held in the last Friday evening of every month.
