The business is growing through partnerships with major national retailers and is committed to high standards of product compliance, ethical sourcing, and regulatory responsibility.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Compliance Officer to oversee all aspects of product, packaging, and ethical compliance across our supply chain.

Role Summary

This role is responsible for ensuring all Ivyline products and factories meet relevant regulations, retailer requirements, and internal standards. You will act as a key link between design, sourcing, and product development teams, ensuring product safety, ethical sourcing, and packaging compliance are embedded throughout the development process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ethical and Factory Compliance
    • Manage ethical compliance process, including documentation and tracking of all products
    • Ensure all factories are ethically and technically compliant through third party testing and inspection
    • Maintain supplier audit status (e.g. Sedex, BSCI) and flag any risks or issues
    • Support Ivyline standards and ongoing factory compliance with modern slavery, worker welfare, and environmental policies
  • Product Compliance & Testing
    • Provide technical input to ensure all products are compliant with UK and EU legislation, including REACH, UKCA/CE and other requirements
    • Keep up to date with evolving legal, safety, testing, and labelling requirements applicable to our product ranges
    • Be responsible for the inherent quality and compliance of all Ivyline products across the range
    • Manage pre shipment inspections and flag any risks or issues
    • Maintain and update the Ivyline Supplier Manuals to set clear specifications and standards for current and future products
  • Design & Development Support
    • Review product concepts and provide technical and regulatory feedback on all developments
    • Ensure all products are designed and manufactured in line with the original design brief and applicable regulations
    • Support the development team throughout the sampling and development process to ensure compliance and quality
    • Review first draft packaging copy and advise on Care & Use, Warnings, and other mandatory labelling
  • Packaging Compliance
    • Ensure that packaging, including outer packaging, is sufficient, fit for purpose, and compliant with relevant retailer and environmental standards
    • Support the implementation of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), Waste packaging management, and other packaging sustainability requirements
  • General Duties
    • Gold seal sample management
    • Carry out any other duties reasonably requested by the senior management team
    • Contribute to continuous improvement across compliance and product development functions

Key Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of product safety regulations, testing protocols, and labelling requirements
  • Understanding of ethical sourcing practices and third-party audit schemes
  • Excellent written communication and document control skills
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with design, development, sales, and manufacturing
  • High attention to detail and a structured approach to compliance management
  • Experience working with major UK retailers and knowledge of their compliance systems and standards
  • Familiarity with packaging sustainability regulations and labelling schemes
  • Technical background in product design, manufacturing, or material science
