Ivy Rock Partners is working with a well-established Further Education College to appoint an experienced Interim Year-End Accountant to support a critical period of financial reporting, statutory compliance, and year-end preparation on an initial 6 month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced FE finance professional who can quickly add value, manage complex regulatory returns, and support the College through its year-end audit cycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare for the year-end audit
  • Produce statutory financial statements
  • Prepare detailed audit working papers and reconciliations
  • Compile income and expenditure accounts, balance sheet and cash flow statements
  • Review year-end financial performance and provide analysis and insight
  • Act as the key liaison with external auditors throughout the audit process
  • Support the preparation of management accounts, forecasts and cash flow reporting
  • Assist with balance sheet reviews and bank covenant monitoring
  • Prepare and submit regulatory and statutory returns including: DfE returns, VAT returns, CFFR submissions

About You

  • Previous experience within the Further Education sector
  • DBS check completed previously
  • Strong understanding of FE funding, financial reporting and regulatory compliance
  • Proven experience completing CFFR submissions and DfE financial returns
  • Experience preparing statutory accounts and supporting external audits
  • Knowledge of Charities SORP, FE accounting practice and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills
  • Ability to work independently and deliver against tight reporting deadlines
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
