Overview
Ivy Rock Partners is working with a fantastic non-profit organisation in seeking a highly capable Interim Financial Accountant, for 6-8 months, to support a busy finance function through a critical year-end period. This role will suit a fully qualified accountant with proven experience in the public sector, who can quickly add value and operate with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Prepare statutory accounts in line with relevant public sector reporting standards
- Assist with audit preparation and act as a key point of contact for external auditors
- Review and reconcile balance sheets, identifying and resolving discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with financial controls, policies, and regulatory requirements
- Provide technical accounting support and guidance to the wider finance team
- Support production of financial statements and disclosures
- Contribute to process improvements and documentation where required
Candidate Profile
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Demonstrable experience working within a public sector organisation
- Strong understanding of public sector financial reporting frameworks
- Proven experience supporting or leading year-end processes
- Confident working with auditors and senior stakeholders
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
