I

Ivy Rock Partners are delighted to be partnering with a large, values-led organisation to recruit a Financial Accountant into their team on a 6-month FTC.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong, qualified accountant to join a complex organisation where you'll play a key role in maintaining a robust financial control environment, delivering statutory reporting, managing external audits and supporting continuous improvement across the finance function.

The Role

As Financial Accountant, you'll take ownership of a portfolio of legal entities, ensuring statutory reporting and financial control obligations are delivered accurately and on time. Working closely with colleagues across Finance, you'll provide technical expertise while supporting wider improvements to reporting processes and financial governance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing quarterly and annual statutory accounts, together with supporting working papers.
  • Managing interim and year-end audit processes, acting as the key liaison with external auditors.
  • Preparing monthly control account reconciliations and ensuring intercompany balances, investments and borrowings are accurately reconciled.
  • Supporting the completion and submission of statutory and regulatory returns, including Companies House filings and Financial Viability Assessments (FVA).
  • Producing financial health reporting and supporting governance reporting for senior leadership.
  • Providing technical accounting advice to finance colleagues and stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Identifying opportunities to strengthen financial controls, improve reporting processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Financial Accountant who combines excellent technical accounting knowledge with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

You’ll bring:

  • A fully qualified CCAB accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIPFA or equivalent), supported by evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Experience preparing statutory accounts and delivering high-quality financial reporting within a complex organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory financial returns and statutory filings, including Financial Viability Assessments (FVA) and Companies House submissions.
  • Experience managing both interim and year-end audit processes.
  • Excellent technical accounting knowledge with the ability to provide expert advice across the organisation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across a wide range of stakeholders.
  • A collaborative approach, a customer-focused mindset and a genuine commitment to continuous improvement.

Why Apply?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly regarded organisation with a strong social purpose, where finance is recognised as a key strategic partner. You'll join a supportive and collaborative team, work in a flexible hybrid environment, and have the opportunity to influence financial governance, strengthen controls and contribute to ongoing transformation across the finance function.
