We are working with a public sector body who are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead the design and delivery of a future-ready technology landscape over a two-year transformation programme, as they transition to bringing their IT function in-house. This is a pivotal role, offering the opportunity to define and embed enterprise-wide architecture that supports long-term strategic goals.

The Role

  • Develop and maintain the organisation's enterprise architecture blueprint, aligning IT strategy with business priorities.
  • Lead on architectural governance across application, data, integration and infrastructure domains.
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure architectural alignment with operational needs.
  • Provide oversight and direction on solution design, ensuring scalability, security and sustainability.
  • Support transformation projects with expert input across platforms, systems and services.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation through the evaluation of emerging technologies.

About You

  • Proven experience in an Enterprise Architect role, ideally within a government body, if not then within a public sector, non-profit, or membership-led organisation.
  • Strong understanding across all architecture domains: business, applications, data, and infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting large service transition programmes (ideally moving from an outsourced service to in-house).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid environment and balancing strategic and hands-on responsibilities.
