If you are a finance professional who wants to be able to directly impact Bury's ambition to reduce deprivation, while fostering community pride, sustainability, and opportunity for all then we want to hear from you. Following a restructure, the Council is currently recruiting for some key management roles in their finance team. These positions will support the Strategic Leads in developing a finance team with a business partnering culture focused on continuous improvements to ensure they are providing the financial information that senior leaders need to make informed decisions, helping achieve the Council's ambitious plans.
The Senior Finance Business Partners will report into the Strategic Finance Lead for their service and will be responsible for supporting key stakeholders across their service. As well as providing financial information, productive challenge, strategic and financial decision-making support, the roles will also contribute to the culture change by continuing to embed finance business and working with the services to look at innovative ways to deliver services in the most efficient manner.
The 5 services being supported are:
- Regeneration: The role would be providing support to a number of large regeneration schemes and joint ventures.
- Place: Supporting services across Place and Environment, working closely with service to identify efficiencies and ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
- Housing: Providing support for Housing including supporting the HRA.
- Health & Adult Care: This covers Adults and Health and has a focus on supporting the services to look at prevention and working closely with residential services.
- Children’s & Young People: The role will focus on building engagement with the services and supporting them with driving through change, looking at prevention and reviewing demand led services. The role will also cover schools finance.
To be suitable for the role you need to be a fully qualified accountant with experience in delivering a business partnering service. Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to develop relationships with a wide range of stakeholders is essential. Exposure to working with the services mentioned is highly desirable but applications from those within the NHS, Housing, Central Government and organisations providing residential care are highly encouraged.
