We are pleased to be working with a well-established charitable organisation with a strong social purpose seeking an experienced Senior Management Accountant to join its finance team on a 6 month FTC at a pivotal time of growth and development. This role will be responsible for the production of timely, accurate management information and will act as a trusted finance partner to senior stakeholders. You will also support statutory reporting and contribute to continuous improvement across finance processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing monthly management accounts with clear variance analysis and insightful commentary
- Analysing income, expenditure and payroll to identify trends, risks and opportunities
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting in partnership with budget holders
- Preparing finance reports for boards and committees
- Maintaining robust balance sheet reconciliations and supporting month- and year-end close
- Preparing audit schedules and supporting internal and external audits
- Producing monthly finance KPIs and improving reporting tools and models
- Contributing to finance projects and process automation initiatives
About You:
You will be a qualified accountant with a strong background in management accounting. You will bring:
- A full professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIPFA or equivalent)
- Proven experience in management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders and non-finance colleagues
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems (Unit4 experience desirable)
- A collaborative, calm and resilient approach, with the confidence to challenge constructively
- Experience in the charity, social housing or wider not-for-profit sector (desirable)
