Ivy Rock Partners are supporting a leading, large-scale educational organisation to appoint an experienced Financial Planning & Analysis Manager on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a high-impact role within a complex finance function, supporting senior stakeholders with financial planning, reporting, budgeting and forecasting. This role will play a key role in strengthening financial insight and decision-making across a diverse portfolio.
The FP&A Manager will take responsibility for a defined set of departments, acting as a trusted finance business partner to senior leaders and budget holders. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing financial insight, support and constructive challenge to senior managers and budget holders
- Supporting the development of strategic and business plans
- Leading budgeting, forecasting and financial decision-making processes
- Producing accurate monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and clear commentary
- Contributing to consolidated management accounts and wider organisational reporting
- Ensuring reporting deadlines are met and outputs are accurate and high quality
- Driving continuous improvement of reporting tools, processes and financial controls
- Supporting year-end accounts and financial analysis
- Delivering ad-hoc financial analysis and appraisal
- Representing Finance at meetings and committees as required
You will be an experienced FP&A professional with a strong track record in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. You will bring:
- Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting
- Strong business partnering skills with the confidence to support and challenge senior stakeholders
- Excellent analytical capability and attention to detail
- The ability to improve processes and reporting in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate financial data into clear insight
- Experience working to tight deadlines and managing competing priorities
- Experience in a public sector organisation
