Ivy House School thrives as a distinguished, co‑educational, non‑denominational school for boys and girls aged 2‑11, nestled within the green spaces of Golders Hill Park in Hampstead. We are seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with an individual pupil, under the direction of the SENDCO and Class Teacher. The successful applicant will be required to predominantly support one pupil in Year 2, who will require in‑class support and 1:1 pre and post teaching support within the Learning Support Department.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the educational, pastoral, and personal development of the pupil by working under the direction of the SENDCO, providing tailored learning support, delivering revision and study skills sessions, encouraging independence and responsibility for learning, and ensuring appropriate differentiation to meet individual abilities and Special Educational Needs.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, specialists, parents, the SENDCO, and senior leaders to ensure a consistent and joined‑up approach to pupil support, maintaining high levels of communication, sharing strategies and progress, contributing to parent consultation meetings and reports, and providing regular verbal and written feedback.
• Monitor, record, and evaluate the pupil’s progress, maintain accurate records, carry out associated administrative duties, and support the implementation of learning and behavioural strategies in line with the Key Stage 1 and 2 curriculum and the school’s systems and expectations.
• Uphold and model the school’s values through professional conduct, communication, appearance, and behaviour, working collegiately with colleagues, following all school policies and procedures, maintaining high standards in all interactions with pupils, parents, and staff, and demonstrating a commitment to ongoing professional development.
