Location: Newton Aycliffe

Salary: £24,454.03 per annum (with review after 3 months)

Working Hours: 37 hour week (option of 4 day week Monday to Thursday 7.45am to 5.30pm)

Our client is a focused manufacturing business, operating in a fast-paced project environment with a strong emphasis on doing things right first time. We are looking for an organised and detail-focused Project Coordinator / Order Processor to join the Sales team. This role is key to ensuring projects move smoothly from order placement through design and into production, with accurate information and clear communication at every stage. You will work closely with sales, design, production, and logistics teams, acting as a central point of coordination to ensure customer orders are processed correctly and delivered on time. Full training will be provided.

Job Description:

  • Process customer orders from start to finish, ensuring accuracy of information, materials, and logistics.
  • Check orders and schedules to ensure compliance with company procedures.
  • Support error reduction processes (including NCRs) and ensure accurate sales orders for customer invoicing.
  • Liaise with production teams to provide order status updates to sales teams and customers.
  • Support estimators, business development managers, and project managers when required.
  • Handle customer enquiries by phone, including delivery queries and order updates.
  • Interpret customer drawings, specifications, and site plans to identify key requirements and costs.
  • Obtain and review subcontractor and supplier quotes when required.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Requirements:

  • You will be detailed, customer-focused, and comfortable working across multiple departments.
  • At least 12 months’ experience in a manufacturing or similar environment (desirable).
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong numerical skills, including basic arithmetic and geometry.
  • Ability to read and understand architectural drawings, elevations, and site plans (desirable).
  • A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.
