Vacancy Location: Horley, Surrey (Regional, covering Residential and Supported Living Homes)
Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week (plus on call 1 in 4 weeks)

The Opportunity

We are a dedicated care provider supporting adults with Autism and Learning Disabilities. We believe that everyone deserves to live in a safe, beautiful, and well-maintained environment. As our new Maintenance Operative, you will play a vital role in the happiness and comfort of the people we support.
You won\’t be on a building site or in a cold workshop. You will be out on the road, visiting our Residential and Supported Living homes, ensuring they are safe, vibrant, and functioning perfectly.
What You Will Be Doing
No two days are the same in this role. Working both independently and alongside our supportive regional team, you will ensure our properties are kept to the highest standard.
- The Fixer: Tackling basic plumbing and electrical work (where permitted) and performing basic carpentry repairs. You\’re the person who saves the day when things stop working.
- The Decorator: Painting and decorating to keep our homes looking fresh, bright, and welcoming.
- The Safety Guardian: Conducting Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) and general safety checks to ensure the environment is compliant and secure.
- The Home Maker: Maintaining the overall appearance and wellbeing of the homes—because a well-kept home is a happy home.
What We Need From You
- Practical Experience: You are comfortable with basic trade skills (DIY, plumbing, carpentry, painting).
- A Can-Do Attitude: You are proactive, spotting problems before they become issues.
- Compassion: You are comfortable working in environments supporting vulnerable adults and can be respectful of their personal space.
- Independence: You are happy to manage your own day and travel across the region.
- Flexibility: You are willing to cover an on-call rota (one week in every four) to handle emergencies.
