Job Description:
We are seeking a self-motivated and ambitious Assistant Finance Manager to join our growing finance team. In this role, you will support key parts of the finance function, assisting with accounts payable processes and reporting on key spending lines such as cloud server and IT costs. You will work closely with the Senior Finance Manager and other team members to support the operations across multiple geographies and business segments.
This position provides an excellent opportunity to learn the skills of company accounting, and you’ll be exposed to a variety of areas including management reporting, annual audits, balance sheet reconciliations, and banking. You will also play a crucial role in helping us process supplier invoices and manage payments. Additionally, you will assist with the monthly close process and support the finance team on ad-hoc tasks.
The role requires fluency in French and the ability to work across multiple currencies, as you’ll be supporting an international group. This is a great chance for an ambitious individual to grow their skills in a small team with a strong focus on personal development.
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing the Accounts Payable process, ensuring supplier invoices are processed and paid on time.
- Ensuring the accuracy of supplier invoices by working across the business.
- Handling supplier queries and payments.
- Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations and cost reporting/analysis.
- Supporting the monthly accounting close and reporting.
- Contributing to the annual audit and providing ad-hoc support as needed.
- Offering operational support, including office maintenance and IT systems.
What we’re looking for:
- 1-2 years of experience in a finance role, ideally with accounts payable and banking processes experience.
- Fluency in French is a key requirement.
- A degree (2:1 or higher) or an accounting qualification such as AAT is preferred.
- A desire to complete an accounting qualification (we can help facilitate your learning).
- Proficient in Excel; exposure to Xero is a plus, though we can teach you this.
- A hands-on, can-do attitude and willingness to support the business across multiple areas.
Personal Characteristics:
- Organised, with strong attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and able to take initiative without being prompted.
- Thrives under pressure and is determined.
- Strong communication skills, both internally and externally.
- A passion for learning and growing.
- Hands-on approach with a willingness to roll up sleeves and support the business wherever needed.
- Competitive financial package including salary, stock options, and pension scheme.
- Wellbeing benefits, including healthcare, enhanced maternity and paternity leave, 25 days holiday per year, summer hours, paid volunteering days, and free gym membership.
- Hybrid working environment with flexible work-from-home options.
- Diversity & Inclusion initiatives with a commitment to creating an inclusive workplace.
- Learning and development opportunities through training programs, individual development plans, and coaching from supportive peers and managers.
- A fun company culture with social events, global team gatherings, and a focus on inclusivity.
Not ticking every box? That’s totally okay! Studies show that women and people of colour might hesitate to apply unless they meet every single requirement. We’re dedicated to creating a diverse and welcoming team. If you’re passionate about this role and keen to learn and grow with us, we encourage you to apply, even if you don’t have everything that\’s listed just yet.
