As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners. We are a busy well-equipped small animal veterinary practice with a friendly supportive team of 6 vets, 9 nurses and 5 receptionists. This is a part-time position working 19-20 hours per week with varying shifts between 8am – 7pm Monday - Friday alongside 1:5 Saturday mornings 8.30am-12.30pm.

How You’ll Make a Difference

  • As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional, and compassionate experience at every interaction.
  • You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications, and working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.
  • Manage and deal with appointment bookings in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Greeting clients and their pets for appointments, being sensitive to their needs while promoting a professional image at all times.
  • Be a positive member of the team.
  • Ensure that reception and other areas of the practice are kept to a high standard of cleanliness and are presentable at all times.
  • Bereavement handling – offer emotional assistance to clients in sensitive situations.
  • Be happy to discuss financial issues including payments with clients.
  • Comply with Health and Safety regulations and local policy within the surgery.
