SCVS is a specialist-led small animal hospital equipped with the expertise and knowledge to support the most complex of cases.

We also have a team of dedicated veterinary care assistants to ensure patients feel reassured and comforted during their stay.
How You’ll Make a Difference
Our Clinical Floor Coordinator will be instrumental in the effective and efficient running of the clinical floor across all referral disciplines in the hospital, which will include Anaesthesia, Cardiology, Dermatology, Diagnostic Imaging, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Ophthalmology and Orthopaedics & Soft Tissue Surgery. Reporting into the Clinical Nursing Manager, the Clinical Floor Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the clinical floor runs effectively and efficiently by taking a central role in planning the day’s referral procedures, and leading the teams to complete their individual workflows as scheduled. Due to the dynamic nature of referral and emergency work, the workflows of each department will be subject to change, and this will require decisive action and the reallocation of resources. You will not be required to undertake clinical work as standard, but you must be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical knowledge. This is a fixed term contract position working up to 40 hours per week Monday‑Friday, though we will also consider part time applications for this role.
Responsibilities
- Responsibility for the efficient throughput of cases across all departments of the hospital, working collaboratively to oversee the scheduling of the day, including management of emergencies and prevention of delays.
- Manage the clinical schedule to reflect staffing levels and facility availability.
- Monitor and audit efficiency across the hospital in processing cases, and implement changes to optimise efficiency.
