We are seeking an enthusiastic, team‑orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Bryn and Golborne Veterinary Centre, Ashton‑in‑Makerfield on a full‑time basis. Part‑time hours will also be considered. Bryn and Golborne Veterinary Centre is a busy, first opinion small animal practice operating across two sites, offering a varied caseload and a supportive, collaborative working environment. You’ll be joining a friendly team where nurses play a key role in delivering high standards of patient care and client experience.
Located in Ashton‑in‑Makerfield within the borough of Wigan, the practice benefits from excellent transport links, including nearby train stations, motorway access, and access to countryside walks. Our team includes Veterinary Surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses, Student Nurses, Client Care Advisors, and a Practice Director, all working together to provide a positive and supportive workplace.
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high‑quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences. You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice. This is a hands‑on role where you will be involved in all aspects of nursing, including theatre work, anaesthesia, inpatient care, nurse consultations, and diagnostic support. You will also play an important role in supporting preventative healthcare plans and client education.
This role offers 36–40 hours per week, typically across a 4‑day working week with a flexible rota depending on your preference. There is a 1 in 4 Saturday morning rota (9:00am–12:00pm) and no out‑of‑hours requirements.
General responsibilities include:
- Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied first opinion caseload
- Support surgical procedures, including anaesthesia monitoring and theatre nursing
- Run nurse‑led clinics and promote preventative healthcare
- Provide excellent inpatient care and support patient recovery
