We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at Rosehill Vets on a part-time fixed-term basis covering 6 months. Rosehill Vets is a well-established practice in the heart of Plymouth with a loyal, longstanding client base. Our bright, modern practice has recently undergone a complete refurbishment of both the clinical and reception areas and is equipped with excellent facilities, including a dedicated theatre, spacious prep room, digital X-ray, ultrasound suite and a modern dental suite.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience at every interaction. You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications and working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.

Working Pattern

This role is split across three weekday shifts, all finishing at 7:00pm, with 2 in 4 Saturdays working 9:00am to 2:00pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with clients and the clinical team to deliver a high standard of customer care
  • Welcome clients and their pets in a friendly and professional manner
  • Book appointments and manage the practice diary efficiently
  • Manage telephone and email enquiries
  • Process payments for services and products accurately
  • Manage cash handling and end-of-day banking procedures
  • Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming reception environment for clients and patients
