Discover a place to make a difference. Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon ready to take the next step into clinical leadership? Sampson Park Group are looking for a confident and motivated Clinical Lead to join our team across Oundle, Thrapston, Corby and Kettering. This is a fantastic opportunity to make the role your own, put your mark on the practice group and work closely with the Clinical Director and Practice Director to shape clinical standards, support the team and drive the group forward.

We’re looking for an all-round GP vet with strong clinical and surgical skills, management experience and a genuine passion for developing others. As Clinical Lead, you’ll take responsibility for clinical leadership across our 4 sites, helping to create a supportive environment where the team can deliver excellent patient and client care. You’ll work alongside the Clinical Director and Practice Director, playing an important part in the day-to-day running and future development of the group. You'll be a visible and approachable leader, providing guidance to colleagues, mentoring junior vets and supporting the wider team with clinical decision-making.

There’s a good level of experience within the group so you'll have plenty of support around you while having the autonomy to influence how the role develops. We're looking for someone confident across all areas of first-opinion practice, ideally with a surgical interest. Orthopaedic experience would be a bonus, but it isn't essential. Most importantly, you'll be a strong communicator and leader who enjoys bringing people together, sharing knowledge and helping others grow.

Fix or flex – find your perfect balance. Ideally, we're looking for someone to work 40 hours per week, spread across five days with shorter working days and no weekends. However, we appreciate that everyone's circumstances are different, so we're happy to discuss working patterns with the right person. If weekend involvement is needed, this would be shared across the team. The 4 practices are all within approximately 20 minutes of one another, making it easy to provide support across the group without lengthy travel between sites.

Team and facilities. You'll be joining an established group of around 9 FTE vets across Oundle, Thrapston, Corby and Kettering, with a range of experience and clinical interests. The team includes senior vets who can offer guidance and support, alongside colleagues who would really benefit from an experienced leader to help with their development. There is already a strong clinical foundation in place, including a medicine certificate holder, but we're keen to keep building on this. There is also scope for expansion across the group, giving you the opportunity to influence future growth, develop the team and help shape the clinical direction of the practices.

Location and culture. With four practices across Oundle, Thrapston, Corby and Kettering, you'll be part of a well-connected group serving a varied client base across the area. Each site has its own character, and you'll have the opportunity to get to know the teams and make a difference across the wider group. This is a role for someone who wants more than a job title. You'll have the backing of an experienced senior team, the opportunity to develop your leadership skills and the freedom to make a real impact on the practices and the people within them.

How We’ll Support You. At inspiring vet care, we’re committed to supporting your ongoing development and wellbeing. When you join us, you’ll benefit from:

  • Clear career pathways with progression opportunities across primary care, referral, leadership, and specialist roles
  • Funded learning and development including CPD allowance and access to IVC academy training centres & role-relevant courses
  • £1,250 annual Care Fund for every vet
  • Access to mentors, regional clinical coaches, and peer networks
  • Support to develop clinical interests and expand your capabilities
  • A collaborative, values-led culture focused on care, community, and continuous improvement

What We Offer Our Team:

  • 6.6 weeks’ holiday including bank holidays
  • Private medical insurance
  • Enhanced family leave and pay across maternity, paternity, adoption and surrogacy
  • BVA membership, VDS cover & RCVS fees
  • Cycle to Work and Green Car schemes (eligibility applies)
  • Retail discounts and cashback offers
  • Reduced-cost veterinary care for your own pets
