We are seeking an enthusiastic, team‑orientated OOH Veterinary Care Assistant to join our team at Blaise on a full‑time permanent basis. Spanning an impressive 36,000 sq ft, our hospital is one of the largest in the UK. With the capacity to treat up to 10,000 pets annually, we provide a comprehensive range of specialist‑led multi‑discipline veterinary referrals and offer round‑the‑clock emergency care services to pet owners across the Midlands. Conveniently located with easy access from the A38 through Longbridge, our site is an integral part of the West Longbridge regeneration project.
How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Veterinary Care Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the clinical team to deliver high standards of patient and client care, while helping to ensure the practice environment runs smoothly and safely. Working under the direction of a Veterinary Surgeon or Registered Veterinary Nurse, you'll support inpatient care, assist with patient handling and restraint, help maintain clinical areas and equipment, and contribute to a positive and compassionate experience for both patients and clients.
Working Pattern
- Night shifts, 8:00pm – 7:25am (11.42‑hour shifts)
- Rolling 4‑on / 4‑off shift pattern
- Weekends and bank holidays included
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively and with passion as part of a strong clinical team to deliver high‑quality patient and client care across the hospital
- Support clinicians, nurses and owners to provide hospitalised patients with the highest standard of individualised care
- Ensure hospitalisation facilities and equipment are cleaned, maintained and stocked in line with infection control policies
- Be a proactive and reliable team member, supporting nursing teams and clinical services across the hospital
