We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at Pool House Equine Vets on a part‑time basis. Pool House Equine Hospital has been a significant part of the community for many years and has been a beacon of high-quality veterinary care for our clients. Our staff are our biggest strength, alongside the fantastic facilities we have to offer. The group has specialist‑trained colleagues and referral specialists in surgery, diagnostics, medicine, lameness and poor performance.

How You’ll Make a Difference

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Booking equine clients and hospital consultations/investigations
  • Taking payments and resolving account queries
  • Managing calls, emails, and in-person enquiries
  • Organising diaries and coordinating with vets, nurses, and support staff
  • Carrying out general administrative duties while following practice protocols

Working Pattern

This is a part‑time permanent role working 27 hours per week, Tuesday to Friday 10:30am-4:30pm and Saturday 9:00am-12:00pm.

We ask that you have experience in the veterinary profession due to the demanding role and responsibilities that our reception team undertake. You must be confident, organised and able to communicate clearly, with the ability to coordinate diaries efficiently. You’ll keep clients and patients at the forefront of everything you do and help make every client feel welcome.

  • Previous administrative experience
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks efficiently
  • Competence in basic IT systems and office software
  • Equine knowledge
