What You'll Be Doing
As our BI Developer, you'll be responsible for building, maintaining, and enhancing our business intelligence capability across the organisation.
You'll work with stakeholders from across the business to understand reporting needs, develop robust data solutions, be pivotal in our data warehouse rebuild, and ensure decision-makers have access to accurate, actionable insights.
Your responsibilities will include
- Designing and developing engaging dashboards and reports using Power BI.
- Transforming complex data into clear, meaningful insights that support business performance.
- Writing and optimising SQL queries, views, and datasets to underpin reporting solutions.
- Building and maintaining reliable data pipelines to support efficient data ingestion and transformation.
- Collaborating with data owners and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Troubleshooting issues across the data lifecycle, from source systems and ETL processes through to front-end reporting.
- Monitoring and improving report, dataset, and query performance.
- Supporting BI governance, documentation, and best practices to ensure a scalable and reliable reporting environment.
- Contributing to the ongoing evolution of our data and analytics capabilities.
What We're Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience with
Power BI and Power BI Service , including dataflows, apps, and gateway management.
- Proven experience designing and optimising data models within Power BI.
Advanced SQL skills, including complex query writing, optimisation, and working with large datasets.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing principles, ETL/ELT processes, dimensional modelling, and data transformation.
- Experience working with ETL/ELT tools such as Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or similar technologies.
- Experience delivering end-to-end BI solutions, from requirements gathering through to deployment.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to detail.

- Experience using
Python for data analysis, automation, or pipeline support.
- Knowledge of SQL Server administration, performance tuning, indexing, and maintenance.
- Advanced DAX development and optimisation experience.
- Experience enabling self-service BI through training, documentation, or user support.
