Salary up to £65,000 DOE
We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who is confident in basic surgery and clinical skills, although support is always available. A work‑life balance is important to us and we are happy to discuss working hours with the right candidate. Out of Hours is now provided by Vets Now at our Kendal practice, meaning we have 24‑hour care for our patients without being part of an on‑call rota. Weekends are on a fair rota pattern, working Saturday and Sunday 8-12.

Once a mixed practice, Westmorland Veterinary Group is now a thriving two‑site practice with separate farm and small animal teams. Our team have a variety of experience, from student nurses and new graduate vets to those with over 30 years of experience. We have certificate holders, including an Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery, and further qualifications and training are encouraged here. We are well equipped with digital X‑ray including AI technology, endoscopy, ultrasound machines, multi‑parameter anaesthetic monitoring and an in‑house laboratory.
