We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Veterinary Care Assistant to join our team at The Barn Vets on a part-time permanent basis. The Barn Veterinary Practice is a long-established practice and many of our team have worked for us for 10+ years, some 20+ years! We are a small team and work well together.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Veterinary Care Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the clinical team to deliver high standards of patient and client care, while helping to ensure the practice environment runs smoothly and safely. Working under the direction of a Veterinary Surgeon or Registered Veterinary Nurse, you'll support inpatient care, assist with patient handling and restraint, help maintain clinical areas and equipment, and contribute to a positive and compassionate experience for both patients and clients.

Working Pattern

The hours are 8.30 - 12.30 (4 hours) per week (Saturdays).

Key Responsibilities

The role is primarily to assist the Veterinary Surgeon with Saturday morning consultations, duties which includes animal handling, laboratory work, and some cleaning. The successful candidate will also be expected to assist on reception, to include customer care tasks such as taking payments and answering the telephone, booking appointments as required.
