Our main hospital is conveniently located just off the ring road in north Leeds, near Roundhay Park, our practice boasts excellent transport links to the city centre.
Our team comprises 10 vets, 10 RVNs (including our dedicated night nurse team), 6 SVNs, 4 VCAs, and 10 receptionists working to provide 24 hour wrap around care to our patients at our hospital, general practice clinics and exotics only practice. Having been open now for 30 years we have developed a range of annual team events and a full schedule of practice meetings as well as one to one career development and professional coaching available to all staff.
How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional, and compassionate experience at every interaction. You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications, and working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.
- Ensure that all visitors to the practice are met in a professional, friendly and courteous manner at all times
- Inform and educate clients, providing excellent customer service at all times, in a professional, sympathetic and courteous manner
- Convert enquiries to appointments wherever possible to maintain pet healthcare
- Organise appointment diary
- Record, pass on and personally follow up enquiries promptly and efficiently
- Add new client details fully onto computer system
- Check/update vaccine/contact details upon each visit or during each phone call
- Ensure clients pay for services on day of treatment
- Secure follow up appointments to close a treatment plan fully wherever possible
- Educate all clients about practice services
- Promote preventive health
- Keep the reception area clean and tidy at all times, especially ready for the next working day
This full‑time position offers up to 40 hours per week, working pattern Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri 08:30am‑19:30 with Thursday off. There is no weekends or on‑call.
