Animal Care Assistant in Hungerford

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Animal Care Assistant to join our team at Hungerford Vets on a full-time basis to cover 6 months.

Our practices in Hungerford and Pewsey have long been known for their exceptional quality and dedicated professionals.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As an Animal Care Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the clinical team to deliver high standards of patient and client care, while helping to ensure the practice environment runs smoothly and safely.

Working under the direction of a Veterinary Surgeon or Registered Veterinary Nurse, you'll support inpatient care, assist with patient handling and restraint, help maintain clinical areas and equipment, and contribute to a positive and compassionate experience for both patients and clients.

Working Pattern

This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.
• Monitor and care for hospitalised animals.
• Administer medications and follow prescribed treatment plans.
• Handle and restrain animals during procedures.
• Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in animal care areas.
• Provide compassionate support to pet owners.
