We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at Barton Lodge on a full-time permanent basis. Barton Lodge Veterinary Centre is part of the IVC group. We are situated in Hemel Hempstead (Hertfordshire), with lots of beautiful countryside around, as well as easy access to London and all major motorways and airports. It is a vibrant workplace where you will be joining an enthusiastic and motivated team. Barton Lodge is a place where you will feel supported, encouraged, and challenged. We offer the highest level of medical, surgical, and diagnostic skills using state-of-the-art equipment. Our modern facilities include digital x-ray including Dental x-ray, ultrasound, on-site blood testing machines, ECG, endoscopy, a dedicated operating theatre, and separate dog & cat wards. We are also a Training Practice with the College of Animal Welfare.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience at every interaction. You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications and working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.

Working Pattern

The rota allows for a good work/life balance, it is approximately 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, covering from 8am to 7pm on a rota basis, including a day off and working every other Saturday morning 8am – 1pm. We are closed every Sunday and Bank Holiday.
