Shape the future of organic growth across one of the world’s largest veterinary networks. As our first dedicated Head of Organic Search, you will build and lead a new group function designed to turn organic discovery into a measurable customer growth channel across multiple markets, brands and hundreds of clinic locations. You will define how we scale organic performance across the Group: creating reusable technical standards, content frameworks, local search playbooks and AI-search capabilities that can be deployed centrally and adapted locally. You will lead a small group team working closely with product, engineering, analytics and local marketing teams to generate customer acquisition and commercial growth, not just rankings and traffic.
Why Join Us
- Help millions of pet owners more easily discover, understand and choose the right veterinary care
- Build a new global organic search function from the ground up.
- Define how organic growth should work across multiple countries, brands and digital platforms
- Shape our approach to AI-powered, answer-engine and agentic search as customer discovery evolves
- Turn SEO expertise into scalable Group products and capabilities rather than solving the same problems market by market
- Work with senior leaders across Marketing, Product, Engineering and Analytics.
What You’ll Do
- Define and deliver the Group organic search strategy, prioritising markets, services and initiatives based on customer and commercial opportunity across international markets.
- Build a scalable operating model that clearly defines what should be created centrally, what can be standardised and what should remain locally adapted.
- Turn organic-search expertise into reusable Group products, including clinic-page blueprints, service-page frameworks, technical SEO standards, local-search playbooks, content frameworks and QA processes.
- Lead technical SEO across the Group, partnering with Product and Engineering to improve site architecture, crawlability, indexation, structured data, internal linking, page performance and tracking.
- Build a scalable local-search strategy across a large network of physical clinic locations, improving discovery, consistency and conversion.
- Own and evolve our approach to AI-powered and agentic discovery, translating emerging search behaviours into practical technical, content and measurement standards.
- Work with the AI & Content Manager and clinical stakeholders to develop credible, useful and scalable content that can be efficiently localised across markets.
- Diagnose performance differences across markets, brands, clinics and services and turn insight into clear priorities and actions.
- Act as the Group subject-matter expert on how search is evolving and what those changes mean for our customer-acquisition strategy.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong SEO and organic growth expertise with credible technical knowledge.
- Experience leading organic search within a complex, multi-site, multi-brand or international environment.
- Demonstrable experience in connecting organic activity to customer acquisition, conversion and commercial growth
- Strong technical SEO knowledge, including site architecture, crawlability, indexation, structured data, internal linking and performance
- Deep understanding of local search and the challenges of driving organic discovery across large physical location networks
- A player-coach mindset: able to set the strategy while remaining comfortable diagnosing problems, interrogating data and getting into the detail. A real hands-on leader who enjoys execution and not just strategy.
- Experience building functions, frameworks or operating models from scratch.
- Strong commercial and analytical mindset with the ability to prioritise opportunities based on likely business impact.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and drive change through collaboration.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and setting priorities in a fast-changing environment.
Ideal Experience
- Organic-search leadership within a large international, multi-brand or multi-location business. This can be either client- or agency side with multiple clients and markets.
- Experience scaling SEO through shared platforms, templates, standards and reusable capabilities
- International SEO and localisation experience
- Advanced local-search and Google Business Profile experience
- Experience of AI-search optimization, measurement or experimentation
- Experience managing external agencies and partners.
- Knowledge of healthcare, veterinary or other regulated sectors requiring strong subject-matter credibility and content governance would be highly beneficial.
