We are seeking an enthusiastic, team‑orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at The Oak Veterinary Group on a full‑time basis. The salary banding is from £25,570 to £32,344 full time basis (banding depending on years of experience / additional duties allocated). Welcome Bonus of £1,000 & Relocation Allowance of up to £2,000. And no OOH. We are based in beautiful Pembrokeshire surrounded by the most stunning coastal and countryside that Wales has to offer.

Our main Small Animal Practice in Haverfordwest which is due to undergo a Property Redevelopment Programme during 2026 offers surgery, dentistry, internal laboratory, ultrasound, radiography & endoscopy. Our Hydrotherapy & Physio services are delivered by our Full time Rehab Co‑Ordinator at our Fishguard Practice. Our Fishguard branch also has internal laboratory, dentistry and surgical facilities along with the unique opportunity to offer clients our aquatic treadmill for hydrotherapy. We also offer laser and acupuncture services in both.

We are a blended team of experienced and talented team members with Head Vet, 7 veterinary surgeons, Head Nurse currently 4 registered veterinary nurses, 3 student nurses and 2 Animal Care Assistants. The team also includes our Director of Practice, Reception co‑ordinator and our Reception Client Care Team covering the three sites. Within our Team We have an advanced practitioner in Small Animal Surgery who performs our advanced surgeries allowing the Vet Team to deal with orthopaedic work and complex soft tissue surgery in house. We enjoy Team social events and Christmas get together and there are also other optional get‑togethers all year round.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high‑quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences. You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice. We are ideally offering a full time position 37.5 hours per week (flexible options also considered).

General responsibilities include:

  • Nursing care of hospitalised / in‑patients and day patients
  • Schedule 3 experience advantageous
  • Monitoring of anaesthetics
  • Consulting with clients, at nurse clinics & Wellness Screenings (including weight management, senior advice, dietary advice and puppy/kitten advice for example)
  • Carrying out procedures such as nail clipping, anal gland expression and dental checks
  • Administering medications and vaccinations under the prescription of a veterinary surgeon
  • Assistance and support to veterinary surgeons during surgeries and procedures
  • Assistance and support to vets within the consulting rooms, as requested
  • Use of equipment associated with anaesthetics and monitoring of patients
  • Cleaning and maintenance of lab, kennels, prep and theatre areas
  • Infection control in lab, kennels, prep and theatre areas
  • Maintaining stock in lab, kennels, prep and theatre areas
  • Laundry
  • Cleaning and maintenance of all equipment
