Our main hospital is based in Gateshead, supported by branches in Sunderland and Crawcrook, alongside a consulting-only branch in Whickham. We are a well‑equipped practice with digital radiography, dental radiography, flexible and rigid endoscopy, an in‑house laboratory including haematology, biochemistry and EPOC analysers, advanced ultrasound with Doppler capabilities and a wide range of equipment supporting soft tissue, orthopaedic, laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures. We are also supported by a dedicated out‑of‑hours emergency and critical care team.

As a Veterinary Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience at every interaction. You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications and working closely with clinical and non‑clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.

General Responsibilities
  • Welcome clients and patients to the practice
  • Handle telephone enquiries and book appointments
  • Manage the reception desk and maintain accurate client records
  • Process payments and support administrative tasks
  • Support the veterinary and nursing teams with day‑to‑day practice operations
Working Pattern

Part‑time permanent position 24.125 hours per week. Week 1: Three working days. Week 2: Two working days plus Saturday morning.
