We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Animal Care Assistant to join our team at De Montfort Veterinary Hospital on a full-time basis. De Montfort Vets is a thriving small animal practice located in the picturesque Worcestershire countryside. Our practice is committed to delivering outstanding patient care while ensuring a seamless and compassionate client experience. We have a dedicated team of 5 vets, 12 nurses, and 4 support staff who work together to provide the highest level of care for our patients.
Situated in the charming market town of Evesham, we are surrounded by beautiful landscapes, riverside walks, and classic Cotswold villages perfect for afternoon tea. With great local amenities, proximity to vibrant towns such as Worcester, Stratford, and Cheltenham, and a quick train link to London, Evesham is an ideal location to both live and work.
How You’ll Make a Difference
As an Animal Care Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the clinical team to deliver high standards of patient and client care, while helping to ensure the practice environment runs smoothly and safely. Working under the direction of a Veterinary Surgeon or Registered Veterinary Nurse, you'll support inpatient care, assist with patient handling and restraint, help maintain clinical areas and equipment, and contribute to a positive and compassionate experience for both patients and clients.
Working Pattern
Monday - Friday (earlies (08:00 start) lates (19:00 finish) 1 in 4 Sat Morning (08:00 - 13:00)
Key Responsibilities
- Handling patients for basic procedures
- Assisting with running diagnostic tests
- Setting up our theatre for procedures
- Running our kennel area and ensuring all patients have their basic husbandry needs attended to
