We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Veterinary Care Assistant to join our team at Moorview Referrals on a full-time basis. Moorview Referrals is a multi-disciplinary, purpose-built veterinary referral hospital based in Cramlington, Northumberland. Our team comprises over 100 team members, ranging from experienced veterinary surgeons to front-of-house teams and administrators, all with the sole goal of delivering our purpose - Healthy animals and happy owners. We pride ourselves on the high level of patient and client care we provide.
How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Veterinary Care Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the clinical team to deliver high standards of patient and client care, while helping to ensure the practice environment runs smoothly and safely. Working under the direction of a veterinary surgeon or registered veterinary nurse, you'll support inpatient care, assist with patient handling and restraint, help maintain clinical areas and equipment, and contribute to a positive and compassionate experience for both patients and clients.
The job role is varied but includes:
- Patient Restraining
- Kennel Duties
- Laboratory work
- Cleaning and sterilising equipment and instruments
- Theatre work, including assisting with procedures
- Dispensing duties
- Assisting in hydrotherapy
This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. There will be a varied shift pattern from 6:30am starts to 9:00pm finishes. There will be 1:4 weekends with TOIL and occasional bank holiday cover.
