We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at Riverside Veterinary Centre on a full-time basis. This is a key front-of-house role within our busy practice, with the opportunity to become a permanent member of the team for the right person. Riverside Vets is a well-established, single-site small animal practice in Belper, with an exciting future ahead. Our team includes veterinary surgeons, RVNs, an SVN, receptionists and a practice manager. How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience at every interaction. You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications and working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.

Working Pattern

  • Working 40 hours per week
  • 1 in 3 Saturday mornings

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcoming clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism
  • Answering telephone calls and handling client enquiries
  • Booking and managing appointments efficiently
  • Providing information on services and appointment processes
  • Handling pre-authorisations and insurance claims
  • Taking payments and managing financial transactions
  • Completing daily administrative tasks
  • Maintaining a clean, fresh, and welcoming reception and waiting area
  • Relaying client queries to veterinary surgeons and nurses, and responding appropriately
  • Supporting ongoing client communication and follow-ups
