This position is split over two sites in Bourne and Spalding.

Work life balance

Our flexible approach to rota patterns and working hours truly tips the scale on your work life balance. We know that everyone has demands and priorities outside of their career and we want to make it brilliantly easy for you to strike the right balance. Whether you are looking to fix or flex your work patterns, we can find the right solution for you. We are in the fortunate position to be able to offer a mix of rotas to accommodate all working patterns including working mums and dads with a school friendly rota. For context, our full-time rota is 40 hours per week across 4 days, with 1:5 Saturdays 8:30am – 12pm. No bank holiday or out of hours are involved as we are covered by Sutterton Veterinary Hospital.

About Us

We have two very well-established surgeries in the Lincolnshire market towns of Spalding and Bourne, both of which have a loyal client base of well over 20 years. We are situated close to the historic town of Stamford where you can visit Burghley House, Burghley Horse Trials, or Rutland Water, and Peterborough is approximately half an hour away with direct train lines into London. Both practices are equipped with digital radiography (recently purchased and upgraded to DR system), ultrasounds including a brand new state of the art machine, dental x-ray, and in-house blood testing equipment. We also have good-sized theatres and consult rooms for our varied first opinion cases. Our friendly team comprises three Veterinary Surgeons, five experienced Registered Veterinary Nurses, and a full team of Receptionists. None of us could do our jobs properly without each other! We are a very encouraging team who are always willing to step in and work together in times of need and we work hard to provide the highest standards in client and animal care. Our Veterinary Surgeons will always talk through all options of care with our clients to ensure they are making the most informed choices. We work closely with various referral practices to be able to offer that option if required. As an area we have very close relationships with our neighbouring practices and often discuss cases and share opinions with each other.

Applicant Requirements

We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who is comfortable with sole charge and confident in all first opinion duties. You should have good communication skills and be able to listen to both your team and your clients. Animal care should be at the forefront of your mind.
