Veterinary Surgeon with Scarsdale Stapenhill & Hilton. Up to £68,000 (DOE) Welcome bonus of £5000 (pro rata) & relocation support of up to £5000. The First opinion leadership team at Scarsdale Vets welcome applications from enthusiastic vet surgeons to apply for an exciting development opportunity to join our RCVS accredited branches in Stapenhill and Hilton. The role offers a mix of both routine and emergency medical/surgical cases. If you are looking to specialise, we can provide that opportunity, whether you would like to study for a certificate or offer specialist services or treatments.

We offer flexible working patterns that flex with you and your lifestyle and interests. Whether looking to balance home and work life or around the school timetable we can offer flexibility that works for you. It’s essential that you enjoy what you do so we will work with you to create a role that suits your interest and skill set. A typical full time role would involve working 38 hours per week over a 4 day week, along with our shared weekend rota. You’ll receive time back in lieu for all weekend work.

About us: We are a multisite practice situated in the Midlands. In addition to our main RCVS Tier 3 accredited hospital we have 8 practice sites – all our sites are accredited by the RCVS under the Practice Standards Scheme. We have a talented and enthusiastic team of Veterinary Surgeons, as well as our roster of New Grad Vets that supported by an exceptional team of Registered Veterinary Nurses, Veterinary Care Assistants and Client Care Advisors. Many of our team, both vets and nurses, are certificate holders including Medicine, Surgery, ECC, Ophthalmology and Imaging and we actively encourage and support Certificate study.

Our main hospital at Derby is well equipped with a CT scanner, MRI, Advanced Ultrasound, Endoscopy, Digital X‑ray, Dental radiography, and multiple surgical suites, as well as an onsite hydrotherapy & rehabilitation centre and benefits from a multi-disciplinary specialist led referral service.

A great place to live & work: Centrally located, there are great transport links to the rest of the country. From Burton on Trent station, trains run the main commuter routes to many cities like Manchester, Nottingham, Birmingham. For car travel, the A6 links Derbyshire to Leicester and Manchester and the M1 takes you south to London or north to Sheffield and Leeds making it an ideal location for visiting friends and family and East Midlands airport is just 30 minutes away. We are in close to the picturesque Peak District National park for those who enjoy walking, climbing, cycling and water activities. For those who love culture there is a good variety of entertainment at Derby Theatre, local gigs, and country houses.

You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.
