We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at New Priory on a part-time basis. This is a great location in the vibrant seaside town of Brighton and Hove. With its exciting and diverse culture, beautiful beach and seafront and excellent transport links to central London and Gatwick airport, Brighton and the surrounding area is a fantastic place to live. Our Brighton Clinic is based within our flagship hospital in central Brighton. The clinic provides a comprehensive range of general practice veterinary services including medicine, surgery, radiography, ultrasound and dentistry along with the support of nursing clinics – all bolstered by excellent hospital facilities.
How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience at every interaction. You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications and working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.
Working Pattern
This is a part-time permanent role working 21 hours per week with weekend and bank holidays included - Hours will include x2 5.75hr shifts Mon-Fri and Saturday or Sunday 8-6.
Key Responsibilities
- To be the first line contact for clients and their pets within our practices and via telephone
- Triage emergencies and provide advice
- Relay all messages taken accurately and act in a timely manner
- Act in a courteous and professional manner at all times
- Welcome and register clients on arrival, make appointments
- Dispense medicines as directed by our Vets
- Take payments and cash up
- Social Media content management
- Complete referrals and other administration tasks
