We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our long‑standing, tight‑knitted team at GP Vets. You will work as part of a small, collaborative team of experienced veterinarians, nursing staff and receptionists to achieve the best outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical and surgical care for a mix of small animal patients, with a caseload mainly consisting of small animals and some exotics.
  • Work as a unit with other vets and healthcare staff to deliver comprehensive veterinary services.
  • Conduct routine and emergency care, including diagnostics, surgery and post‑operative management.
  • Support knowledge development and case study work, and participate in continuous professional development (CPD).

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Strong medical or surgical bias preferred.
  • Evidence of active engagement in CPD and commitment to ongoing professional development.

Schedule & Availability

  • Typical full‑time position: 40 hours per week, Saturday morning rota, and no out‑of‑hours (OOH) duty.
  • Part‑time applicants are also welcome.
  • Flexible rota patterns are available to suit individual needs.

Location & Facilities

Our ISFM accredited, Silver‑rated Cat Friendly small animal practice is located in Basingstoke, with excellent transport links to M3/M4 and to London. Facilities include separate cat and dog kennels, two consultation rooms, an operated theatre, and advanced diagnostic equipment such as Digital X‑Ray, Idexx ProCyteOne, Catalyst, an Ultrasound machine and dental radiography.
