We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-oriented Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Barrow Hill Veterinary Hospital on a full-time or part-time basis.
Barrow Hill Veterinary Centre is a purpose-built, multi-site practice based in Ashford, Kent, with branches in New Romney and Hythe. Our teams work across all four sites, with out-of-hours care supported by nearby VetsNow, helping to maintain a strong work–life balance. We are well equipped with modern facilities, including digital and dental X-ray, CT scanning, endoscopy, orthopaedic equipment, and a K-laser, alongside dedicated dog, cat, and isolation wards. We are also entering an exciting phase of development, with a planned refurbishment to further enhance our Ashford site.

We hold regular clinical discussions and actively promote a healthy, sustainable working environment. Ideally located in Ashford, we are close to the coast, Eurotunnel, Canterbury, and excellent transport links via Ashford International.
How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences. You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.
We’re pleased to consider both full-time and part-time applications for this role. A typical full-time role comprises either 4 x 10-hour days or 5 x 8-hour days at your preference between the hours of 08:00-20:00, after which our out-of-hours cases are transferred to VetsNow. You will also participate in a 1:4 Saturday rota, with a weekday off in lieu where applicable. General responsibilities include:
- Carrying out nurse clinics
- Supporting the wider clinical team across kennel duties, theatre assistance, and surgical procedures
- Dispensing medication accurately and in line with clinical protocols
- Delivering attentive inpatient care and monitoring patients closely throughout their time with us
