We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Sunninghill Vets on a full-time basis. Sunninghill Veterinary Centre was established in 2006 with the aim of bringing a high level of veterinary care to small animals in Sunninghill, Ascot and surrounding villages and towns in Berkshire. We are a well-equipped practice and see a varied first opinion caseload, as well as some more complex orthopaedic surgeries.
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences. You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.
This position is working 40 hours a week, Monday - Friday, between the hours of 8am - 6pm.
General responsibilities include:- Provide nursing care for hospitalised patients
- Monitor anaesthetics during surgical procedures
- Prepare animals for surgery, including clipping and aseptic preparation
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinary surgeons
- Assist with diagnostic procedures such as radiography, blood sampling, and laboratory tests
We’re looking for a confident and motivated Registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys working as part of a team and delivering high standards of care. You’ll bring:
- Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
- Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively
- A proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
