At Rowe Veterinary Hospital we are excited to invite a passionate and friendly Veterinary Care Assistant to join our team! We are looking to recruit a Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) who will provide a high standard of customer service and clinical care whilst promoting pet wellbeing and supporting the clinical team – a very important part of the role is to be passionate about cats! We are Bristol's only fully dedicated cat only clinic.
The role will be responsible for supporting the team with taking care of the wellbeing of pets by maintaining a clean and hygienic environment at all times, assisting with animal handling, working at reception, and providing support to the Veterinary nurses and Veterinary Surgeons as required. No day is ever the same so you can expect something different.
Key qualifications:- Experience with animals or in healthcare would be an added advantage.
- Excellent customer service experience, with a professional approach to dealing with the public.
- A valid driving license, as travel between our 6 sites is required.
- Experience in animal welfare, including feeding, cleaning, medicating, and handling, with a solid understanding of animal welfare needs.
- Resilience to handle potentially emotional and distressing situations.
- A positive attitude and the ability to work well within a team.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage your workload efficiently.
- Previous experience in a veterinary environment is desirable.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to show empathy.
You will work 34 hours across 4 days per week Monday – Thursday, working 8‑hour shifts according to the rota between 8 am and 7 pm on a mix of early and late shifts – either 8 am – 5 pm or 10 am – 7 pm.
