We’re on the lookout for a passionate Veterinary Surgeon to join our Wymondham branch, a modern, purpose-built practice that’s part of a close-knit group of five well-established sites across Norfolk.

At Wymondham, the practice features a bright, spacious environment with:
- Digital radiography
- Ultrasound with Doppler
- Dental radiography (new iM3 X-ray machine)
- Multiple consulting rooms
- Dedicated prep area and imaging suite
- Two theatres
- Separate cat and dog waiting areas
- Kennels and a cattery (ISFM accreditation in progress)
In-house lab includes IDEXX haematology/biochemistry analysers, urine analyser, and microscopy facilities; IDEXX partnerships enable fast, reliable diagnostics.
Although primarily based in Wymondham, there is flexibility across branches and occasional cover at nearby sites to support the wider team.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a varied caseload with a typical split of 75% consults and 25% surgery, including neutering, dentals, and more complex procedures (e.g., lump removals, laparotomies, BOAS, TECA, orthopaedics).
- Work up cases in-house where possible and tailor workloads to individual vets’ strengths and interests; opportunities to pursue certificates.
- Collaborate with a team of 19 small animal vets, 21 registered veterinary nurses, four veterinary care assistants, reception and support staff; participate in case discussions and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to a supportive team culture with colleagues across multiple sites and a focus on learning and development.
Work Pattern and Benefits
- Flexible working patterns to suit lifestyle; up to 40 hours per week over days; no out-of-hours work; Saturday rota no more than 1 in 4 mornings.
