We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-oriented Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Grove Lodge Vets on a full-time basis. Grove Lodge Vets is a busy hospital providing both first-opinion and referral services, with a wide range of specialist disciplines, including diagnostic imaging with on-site CT, orthopaedics, cardiology, soft tissue surgery, and internal medicine. We’re fully equipped with advanced facilities, including a dental suite, endoscopy, laparoscopy, ultrasound, digital X-ray, laser therapy, and an in-house laboratory, alongside separate dog and cat wards.
Our main hospital is based in Worthing on the South Coast, close to both the seafront and the South Downs, with excellent links to Gatwick and London. We’re supported by six nearby branch practices, with this role mainly based in Worthing and occasional cover across the group. As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences. You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.
The role offers a flexible working pattern of 4 x 10-hour days, with the option of including Saturday mornings on a 1:10 rota (7:30 am–12:30 pm). Where Saturdays are worked, time off during the week is provided, which is the preferred arrangement. Alternatively, a fixed schedule of 8 am – 7 pm with a dedicated weekday off can be accommodated.
General Responsibilities Include:- Work across theatres, alongside vets, and general practice nursing
- Support routine surgery and medical referral work-ups
- Provide inpatient and day patient care in wards
- Monitor and nurse a varied caseload of hospitalised patients
- Carry out general nursing duties in a busy practice
- Run nurse clinics including weight management, health checks, arthritis care, geriatric and wellness screening
- Support client education and preventative healthcare initiatives
- Work closely with vets and the nursing team to deliver high standards of care
