We are seeking an enthusiastic, team‑oriented Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Grove Lodge Vets on a full‑time basis. Grove Lodge Vets is a busy hospital providing first‑opinion and referral services with a wide range of specialist disciplines, including diagnostic imaging with on‑site CT, orthopaedics, cardiology, soft tissue surgery, and internal medicine. We are fully equipped with advanced facilities such as a dental suite, endoscopy, laparoscopy, ultrasound, digital X‑ray, laser therapy, and an in‑house laboratory, alongside separate dog and cat wards. Our main hospital is based in Worthing on the South Coast, close to both the seafront and the South Downs, with excellent links to Gatwick and London. We’re supported by six nearby branch practices, and this role will mainly be based in Worthing with occasional cover across the group. How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high‑quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences. You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first‑opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice. The role offers a flexible working pattern of 4 × 10‑hour days, with the option of Saturday mornings on a 1:10 rota (7:30 am–12:30 pm). When Saturdays are worked, time off during the week is provided; otherwise, a fixed schedule of 8 am‑7 pm with a dedicated weekday off can be accommodated. We are a host practice for Vets Now, who take over in the evenings, meaning there are no out‑of‑hours or bank holiday commitments.
General Responsibilities
- Work across theatres alongside vets and in general practice nursing.
- Support routine surgery and medical referral work‑ups.
- Provide inpatient and day‑patient care in wards.
- Monitor and nurse a varied caseload of hospitalised patients.
- Carry out general nursing duties in a busy practice.
- Run nurse clinics including weight management, health checks, arthritis care, geriatric and wellness screening.
- Support client education and preventative healthcare initiatives.
- Work closely with vets and the nursing team to deliver high standards of care.
