We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at Alcombe Vets, in Whitton, on a full-time basis. Alcombe Vets is a well-established first-opinion practice with two convenient locations in the heart of vibrant neighbourhoods. Both our Whitton and Osterley branches are easily accessible, with excellent transport links, and are just a short walk from local cafés, grocery stores, and community amenities. We take great pride in our loyal and dedicated client base and the strong relationships we’ve built with them. How you’ll make a difference

As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience at every interaction. You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications and working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey. The role is full-time, permanent and includes a rota schedule with early and late shifts from 8:30 to 17:30 or 10:30 to 19:30, with a one-hour break plus 1:4 weekends from 8:30 to 12:30.

General responsibilities include:

  • Booking, cancelling, and changing appointments
  • Dealing with enquiries via email, telephone and in person
  • Processing and recording payments
  • Completing the end-of-day reconciliation procedures
  • Dispensing medications/prescriptions
  • Keeping client/patient records up to date
  • Maintaining stock levels
  • Dealing with incoming and outgoing post
  • Ensuring the reception area and consulting rooms are always kept clean and tidy
  • Promoting and signing new patients to our Health Care Plan
  • Educating clients with preventative health care and insurance FAQs
