Overview
We are looking for a confident Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join our wonderful team at Wellpets, Worle. You will be warmly welcomed into our lovely team, in our cosy farm‑house practice, where we pride ourselves on running clinics that meet the needs of our local community. We are happy to support anyone looking to relocate to the area.
Work Schedule & Responsibilities
We are happy to discuss both full‑time (usually over 4 days) or part‑time hours for this role. There are no out‑of‑hours duties and we can discuss flexibility within your rota to allow for a healthy work/life balance. You will be required to contribute to our Saturday rota, which is 8:30 am‑12:30 pm, and we are well supported by our local friendly out‑of‑hours service provider. Although this is a sole‑charge position, we have an excellent network of local IVC practices with whom we can collaborate. Our Yeovil branch of Wellpets is readily accessible for discussing clinical cases and offering mutual support via phone or video conference. The Yeovil and Vale Portishead teams will also be involved in clinical club meetings.
Practice Facilities
We have modern general practice equipment at our disposal: Idexx haematology and biochemistry, microscopy, ultrasound with doppler, digital X‑ray DR system, dental DR, multiparameter monitor, electrocautery and a therapeutic laser machine. We run a well‑structured diary which leads to a calm and efficient working day. This gives you quality time with your patients for 1:1 care.
Team & Culture
Our superb nursing team is encouraged to contribute at every level, building great relations with our loyal clients. We hope to find someone with a positive contribution, fresh ideas and a collaborative approach to growing the practice, allowing you as a talented vet to enjoy your role to the full. Our motto at Wellpets is \”treating pets like family\” but we also extend this to treating our colleagues like family.
