We’re looking for an ambulatory equine vet to join us on a permanent basis. This is primarily an ambulatory position with the opportunity to work cases in our clinic. We have hospitalisation and operating facilities available, enabling outstanding client and patient care and handling an extremely varied equine caseload.

• Full-time vet covering 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday 08:30–17:30 with a 1:5 weekends/OOHs rota. Part‑time applicants are also welcomed.

• Provision of support from the team for cases when required and opportunity to follow cases through.

About Us

Our Markaaton practice is set in the Allestree area of Derby offering high level equine and farm veterinary care. The farm and equine teams are both based there, creating a lively workplace with experienced teams and excellent facilities including operating theatre, stables, foaling boxes, and indoor/outdoor schools.

Our equine veterinary team of seven vets ranges from recent graduates to certificate holders with interests in lameness, medicine, dentistry and reproduction. Regular case discussions and individual development opportunities are supported, with visiting specialist assistance. The team is also supported by a dedicated equine nursing and reception staff.

Salary £30,000 – £65,000 per year, dependent on experience.
