We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Referral Veterinary Surgery Nurse to join our multidisciplinary referral hospital on a part-time basis. As a key member of the surgical team, you will primarily support the Surgery service while working collaboratively with teams across the wider hospital to ensure high standards of care are maintained throughout every stage of the patient journey.

As a Surgery Referral Nurse, you will deliver advanced nursing care within a specialist referral service, supporting the management of complex cases within your chosen clinical discipline. You’ll work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary hospital team, contributing specialist nursing expertise to patient care, supporting clinical decision‑making, and sharing knowledge with colleagues to continually improve standards within your discipline.
Working Pattern- 32 hours per week Wednesday to Friday
- Participation in the weekend, bank holiday and out‑of‑hours rota may be required
- Part‑time position
- Support anaesthesia monitoring and provide high‑quality peri‑operative nursing care
- Prepare patients, equipment and theatre environments for surgical procedures
- Provide post‑operative monitoring and excellent inpatient care
- Monitor patients during diagnostic imaging procedures
You are an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse within a specialist surgical environment and have a passion for referral‑level care. You’ll bring:
- Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
- Significant experience in clinical practice with advanced nursing skills relevant to your discipline
- Experience working with complex medical or surgical cases in a referral or advanced‑care setting
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- A commitment to evidence‑based practice, clinical governance, and continuous improvement
