We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-oriented Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at Sunninghill Vets on a 12 month FTC. Sunninghill Veterinary Centre was established in 2006 by practice principal vet, Johanna Headley, with the aim of bringing a high level of veterinary care to small animals in Sunninghill, Ascot and surrounding villages and towns in Berkshire. Our friendly and experienced team takes the time to do things properly – whether that’s a longer consult, a thorough discussion, or simply a reassuring cuddle. We are a well‑equipped practice and see a varied first opinion caseload, as well as some more complex orthopaedic surgeries.
How You’ll Make a Difference:
- Conduct consultations to assess animal health and diagnose medical conditions.
- Perform routine and complex surgical procedures (e.g. neutering, soft tissue surgery).
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments.
- Carry out diagnostic tests such as blood work, imaging (X-rays, ultrasound), and lab analysis.
- Provide preventative healthcare advice (vaccinations, parasite control, nutrition).
- Maintain accurate clinical records in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Communicate clearly with pet owners regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and costs.
- Handle emergency and critical care cases when required.
- Ensure high standards of animal welfare, hygiene, and clinical governance.
- Work collaboratively with veterinary nurses and support staff.
The working hours will be Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am - 6pm.
