As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional, and compassionate experience at every interaction. You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications, and working closely with clinical and non‑clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.

  • Primarily telephone‑based role, working away from reception
  • First point of contact for incoming calls to the surgery
  • Handle overflow calls alongside the reception team
  • Manage and organise the daily diary efficiently
  • Support and report to the Reception Manager with administrative tasks
  • Conduct outbound calls to support and improve healthcare provision for ~6,000 patients

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provide cover for reception team during holidays and sickness
  • Work across both Copdock and Ashcroft Road Surgery as needed
  • Assist with booking appointments, taking payments, and handling client enquiries
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, delivering excellent customer service
  • Increased reception cover required during busy summer periods

Your shift pattern will cover 23.75 hours, usually 8:15 am – 1 pm Mon‑Fri. When holiday cover is needed, these hours may be switched to an afternoon shift, 2 pm – 7:30 pm.
