We are seeking an enthusiastic, team‑orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Orchard Vets on a full‑time basis. Orchard Vets is a well‑established veterinary practice located in the heart of Romsey. With a reputation for excellence and a commitment to providing high‑quality care, we’ve been serving our community and their beloved pets for 35 years. We have also recently expanded, taking on further branches in Ashurst, Fair Oak and Bassett, reflecting the continued growth and success of the practice. We are well equipped with a range of in‑house facilities including dental radiography, laparoscopy, endoscopy, K‑Laser, VetScan, Imagyst and cryotherapy. We also have a local IVC referral centre available to support more complex cases. The role is primarily based at our Romsey practice; however, due to our recent expansion, there may be the occasional requirement to cover shifts at our Ashurst branch during periods of holiday or sickness.

You will be supported by our dedicated Practice Director and a friendly, experienced team committed to delivering exceptional patient care.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high‑quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences. You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first‑opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice. We actively encourage clinical freedom, case continuity and the development of your own interests, with full support from the wider team. As a practice, we have undertaken several quality improvement initiatives, such as reducing antibiotic usage and introducing in‑house ear cytology, and we are always keen to explore our next project.

Working Pattern

  • 12‑month fixed‑term maternity cover contract
  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • 1 in 5 Saturday mornings (8:30 am – 12:30 pm)
  • No on‑call commitment, with out‑of‑hours provided by Vets Now
  • Flexible working options available
  • Full‑time and part‑time applications welcomed
